Please have a read of this that has been sent to the club via the GCN:

Refreshed after Christmas and the New Year we’re now up for running playtests on the Normandy Realtime System.

We’d love to hear from any Group that wants to get involved. Start by filling out as much detail as you can in the Sign-up Sheet and returning it to us.

Groups can either fix a date (during February or March or up to 10th April) for the game or just send us details and we will send their playtest start-up by return. There is no charge for the Playtest.

Look out for us at Vapnartak in York next Sunday. We will, also, be at the WWI Megame in Leeds on 15th Feb.

For those that have not heard of us to mark the 70th Aniversary of the Normandy Campaign of 1944 we are inviting groups and clubs to host a series of linked war games during June, July & August 2014. The games will be put on by groups, such as yourselves and will be set in Normandy as it was in 1944. They will run in ‘real time’ in that the setting for each game will be the day exactly 70 years before the day on which it is played.
The starting point is the historic Normandy landings that took place on 6th June 1944. From then on, however, the games will not necessarily mirror history. This is because the result of each game that is played will ‘carry forward’ and affect the start up for all following games. The games will be ‘linked’ in this way.
The groups and clubs (players) will be free to put on whatever scale of war game they choose, using whatever rule system they wish and covering whatever time period (hours) on whatever day (or days). Game Control will provide the start positions and a map covering the actual location. This will, of course, include an overall Order of Battle (OOB); background and a (secret) briefing for each side with game objectives.
For their part, players must commit to supplying an end of game report immediately after the game. This report will be fed into the overall campaign and will affect future set ups for other players. Players can, also, supply post game write-ups and diaries that (subject to the pen of the censor) will be posted on our blog - see france194466.wordpress.com/blog/
