How close are we to being ready for our first 15mm game?

My Italian Paras are ready and Steve has late war Americans.

My early war Germans are based and undercoated but I won't be painting them until after PAW.

I've got all the figures and kit for my BEF force, but struggling with painting my wee Jocks (kilted Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders from Forged in Battle) has provoked me into booking a long overdue eye test on Monday.

Two books I dug out which have been useful are:
British Tanks of World War 2, Airfix magazine guide 17 by Terry Gander & Peter Chamberlain (1976)
Blitzkrieg Armour Camouflage and Markings, 1939-1940 by Steven J. Zaloga (1991)
The latter has lots of vehicle paintings, the French paint schemes and markings being most colourful.

I opted not to paint the Mae Wests on my Fairey Battle crew, as they operated from France rather than crossed the Channel, but it's a pity not to have the brightening effect of yellow in the cockpit.

Thanks for the prompt to get on with it. I'm rather dreading my first attempt at "scenic" basing, but I've been rather enjoying collecting pennies. Even if my troops aren't ready, I'd be keen to watch the first games so as to see the rules in action. Oh, and I ought to get some of the dice.

Well, we should be able to give it a go later this year possibly then? Bookmark is busy painting other things at the moment, so I'm not expecting his early war Belgians to be finished any time soon.

Nicely done :) should have my early war Germans finished by next weekend. I decided to do the whole uniform in Fieldgrey so they can be used for mid war as well.
