I don't know whether this interests anyone, but a shop called Sell 4 You on Exeter Road, Exmouth, a few doors down from Krispies chippy, has a ziploc bag of about fifty c.30mm medieval flats in its window. They appear to have been rather simply painted in enamels, but I imagine they could be carefully cleaned and repainted by someone who's into this sort of thing. Perhaps worth a few bob if one's lucky and finds the right collector on the 'net (don't forget my 30% finder's fee…).
Flat figures, while very old school, do have tactical possibilities: as soon as you see the enemy archers nock their arrows you shout a warning order, immediately they loose you order, "Turn to the right". Even when half of your army turns to the left instead, the arrows will miss virtually everyone…
